The island offers dramatically different experiences depending on where you stay. Seminyak and Kuta are known for surf beaches and nightlife; Ubud in the highlands is the spiritual and cultural heart with rice terraces, monkey forests, and yoga retreats; Nusa Dua in the south offers pristine beaches and luxury resorts.
Bali is genuinely a year-round destination, though the dry season is most popular. The food is extraordinary — fresh seafood, satays, and the famous 'nasi goreng' (fried rice) can be found everywhere from roadside warungs to fine-dining restaurants.
When to Visit
The dry season (Apr–Oct) is the most popular time with sunny skies and lower humidity. The wet season (Nov–Mar) brings daily rain showers but temperatures remain warm (27–30°C) and it's significantly cheaper and quieter.
